The Joy of...Bowling (what did you think I was going to say?)

After I try not to freak out about putting my feet into shoes that have had hundreds of other feet in them, I lace them up and head off to find my bowling lane. This happens every time I go bowling.

Bowling happened by accident.

It's not something that I thought I would pick up as a hobby and I only bowl twice a year, but there is nothing more wonderful than literally throwing a 13 lb. ball down a lane!

Unless you slip, which I often I do.

I know, that's why the shoes are for, to keep the wood from getting skid marks so the ball will roll nice and smoothly. Still, it doesn't help clumsy people like me.

Bowling is beautiful. My actions can cause the pins to fall.  How beautiful. I mean, being a mom and a writer, I don't normally have the priviledge of watching my actions create other actions in such a dramatic way. Everything I do causes a little ripple in the pond, not a big one (which is ok, I guess).

But with bowling, I get to watch something actually happpen.
