Simple misunderstanding. I figured, since I wanted to be a children's writer, I should keep to things of that nature. I shouldn't write about other things, but by not writing about those other things, I find myself with a terrible case of writer's block. It's because those other things sit on my mind and I want to write about them, but was determined to keep this blog professional. There's only two problems with this concept.
First, do I really have time to keep two blogs? I would like to write children stories, not two blogs.
Second, we come full circle to where I don't know exactly what to write for my professional blog. I have looked at other writer blogs for inspiration, but find that either they don't know what to write or they bore me to tears as they write about what stage they are at in publishing their book or what flight they booked to attend the next SCBWI conference...or if they are some of my favourite like Stephen Kellogg and Gail Gibbons, they don't even take the time to write online journals.
I'm tired of raking my brain for ideas on what to write about in my blog pertaining to children stories, so from this point on, I am going to write about what I want to write about and not worry about what my editors might think. Who knows, this may actually help them determine as to whether or not they want me to write more based upon my writing style (one can only hope!).
